You will join the Metallic Coatings and Surfaces (MCS) cluster, which is part of the Product Research Centre.
This cluster, consisting of about 80 people, aims to master and develop both existing and new metallic coatings, surface treatments, and innovative processes.
To achieve these objectives, various areas of expertise are developed and applied, including corrosion resistance, surface analysis, coating behavior/characterization, and the hot-dip galvanizing process.
The position offered is within the process sub-team, called the Metallic Coatings Process Team.
In this team, activities focus on developing process knowledge, technologies, and models to increase production yield, improve the robustness of our current product offerings, and expand them.
Your role
We are looking for a research engineer specializing in the hot-dip galvanizing process.
As part of the Metallic Coatings Process team, you will contribute to the optimization and development of process solutions (models, technologies, etc.).
You will specialize in the snout, wiping and cooling processes.
For this, knowledge of fluid mechanics and thermal science is required, and a specialization in CFD, or a strong willingness to develop this skill, is expected.
Skills in programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) to fit/ solve models, and for data science usage, are expected (or a strong willingness to develop these skills).
You will be expected to take part in several projects, with the following main responsibilities:
You will rely on advanced tools (various laboratory pilots and models) and solid expertise available both within and outside the cluster.
