Under general supervision and reporting to the Director of Quality Operations, the Quality Program Manager - Europe is responsible for supporting aerospace production and quality management activities for a major OEM supplier, in accordance with our client's procedures and specifications.
Thanks to your strong background in Power Plant systems, Engine Nacelle components, or Core Engine structures, you monitor and resolve non-conformances related to engine nacelle gaps/steps and other power plant issues in a dynamic international environment with high technical standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - Essential functions are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Lead and support 8D problem-solving activities with suppliers and internal teams Monitor and resolve non-conformances related to engine nacelle gaps/steps and other power plant issues Ensure compliance and quality documentation according to AS9145 (APQP), AS9102 (FAIR), and AS9100/AS13000 standards Provide expertise during product development, industrialization, and series production Interface with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement and root cause analysis Assist with APQP/PPAP process implementation and supplier readiness reviews Other duties as assigned Knowledge Of: Quality Standard (AS9145 (APQP), AS9102 (FAIR), and AS9100/AS13000) and quality tools Drawing systems, inspection plans, and inspection coordination The principles, practices, methods, and tools used in the production line Skills: Strong interpersonal skills; able to foster productive working relationships Must be able to simultaneously manage several objectives Must be detail oriented, organized, and self-motivated Strong verbal, written and communication skills Fluent English – speaking, reading and writing is required; French or German is a plus Professionalism, integrity, and exceptional attention to detail Strong independent decision-making skills; excellent analytical skills and professional judgment Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Knowledge of basic computer skills, include basic Excel skills Aerospace experience, an asset Ability to: Communicate on a regular basis with internal and external parties. Handle complex situations and solve complex problems Work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines Press and analyze technical and business information Work in a team environment with strong communication skills (verbal and written), ability to interact via telephone, email with co-workers Remain seated for up to 5 hours at a time Establish and maintain effective working relationships Pass pre-hire background Supervision Received: The work is performed under general supervision Supervision Exercised: None EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field (preferred) Minimum 5 years of experience in the aerospace industry, ideally in power plant or nacelle systems Proven experience in Quality or Manufacturing Engineering Strong working knowledge of aerospace quality standards (AS9145, AS9102, AS9100, AS13000) LICENSES, CERTIFICATES & OTHER REQUIREMENTS Authorized to work in Europe (France or Germany or UK) Fluent English – speaking, reading and writing is required Pass pre-hire background Reliable transportation - must have current/active drivers' license Working Conditions: Productivity : Incumbents must perform work in an efficient, effective, and timely manner with minimal direction.
Mobility : Incumbents are required to participate in assigned physical activities which may include light lifting and sitting for prolonged periods of time.
Vision : Vision sufficient to read printed documents, computer screens, and observe behavior of others.
Environment : Typical office conditions, directly collaborating with the general manager, quality team, local and remote staff members, and business contacts.
Other Factors : Typical hours worked are Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m.
Incumbents may be required to work occasional extended hours.
The employee frequently is required to use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk (approximately 1-2 miles a day); sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Employee will occasionally drive long distances to and from various suppliers as needed.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
