Labor

The Automation
Manager serves as the key technical reference for automated production lines,
ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and continuous improvement.

This
role bridges operations, engineering, and maintenance teams, and plays a
critical part in implementing robotics strategies and supporting
cross-functional collaboration.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1.

Line Referent / Focal Point

· Train line operators and document operational best
practices.

· Identify and implement improvements to enhance reliability
and production rates.

· Maintain detailed records of system modifications
(before/after).

· Organize item placement in drawers based on tray
construction for efficient line layout.

· Manage item learning processes:

o Clean and update the item database regularly.

o Troubleshoot product handling issues and reconfigure
learning parameters.

o Oversee learning for new and replacement products.

· Configure tray construction:

o Define item positioning and placement sequence.

o Set robot speed and grip parameters.

· Monitor changes to cards, items, and cycles to anticipate
robot learning needs.

2.

Matrix Collaboration with Major Projects Department

· Act as
the primary contact for continuous improvement and reliability of deployed
lines.

· Serve as
the on-site technical expert.

· Escalate
operational issues to the Major Projects team.

· Provide
field-based insights and recommendations.

· Support
the deployment of the group’s robotics strategy.

3.

Maintenance & Equipment Manufacturer Interface

· Manage
inventory of consumables and spare parts.

· Report
and track equipment defects.

· Collaborate
with local maintenance teams and integrators to resolve technical issues.

4.

KPIs and Productivity Monitoring

· Develop and maintain local KPIs tailored to specific
production needs.

· Analyze and interpret performance data to support local
management and strategic decisions.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Ability to work
in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

· Proven ability to
collaborate well across functions and departments, to work as part of a team,
and to lead teams in achieving goals.

· Ability to coach
and mentor team members for professional development and succession
planning 

· Strong analytical
skills for interpretation of data to effectively manage risk 

· Attention to
detail, accuracy, and a strong commitment to business ethics 

· Ability to
effectively collaborate with site operations, functional leaders and external
clients and vendors 

· Develop and
maintain good relationships with all stakeholders

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automation or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in overall automated production environments
  • Ability to work cross functionally and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to travel up to 20% based on operational needs with short notice.

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of robotics, production systems, and process optimization
