The Lyon Neuroscience Research Center (CRNL) is inviting applications for a postdoctoral researcher to join the vibrant and collaborative EDUWELL team.

The postdoc will be involved in analysing existing M/EEG datasets, publishing findings, and sharing results at conferences (talks, posters).

The position offers the opportunity to contribute to two interdisciplinary projects:
1) Within Dr. Antoine Lutz’ meditation research group, a project exploring neural dynamics of different meditative states using MEG.

The candidate will apply complexity measures to brain signals, and integrate the findings with physiological and phenomenological data.
2) With the MEL group (), the postdoc will investigate the neural computations underlying error-based learning in humans, using machine-learning techniques applied to M/EEG data.

The successful candidate will join a stimulating and supportive environment at the CRNL—a multidisciplinary institute bringing together 18 research teams to study brain function and its applications to health and society.

You will be supervised by Dr. Antoine Lutz and Dr. Romain Quentin within the EDUWELL team and will have the opportunity to closely collaborate with the COPHY and MEMO teams.

The start date is June or July 2025.

This call will be opened until June 2025. 

Salary will be in accordance with INSERM agreement and based on research experience and qualification (~3000 € gross monthly salary for a postdoc with 2 to 4 years of research experience). 

Applicant specifications 

We are seeking a candidate who combines strong technical skills with proven research experience in the scientific areas covered by the projects.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A PhD in neuroscience or applied mathematics
• A strong academic track record including publications in leading journals
• Familiarity with meditation research and personal experience with contemplative practices
• Expertise in data analysis, machine learning, and neural signal processing using scientific software based on Python and Matlab. 
• Proficiency in frequentist and Bayesian statistics using R language or Python
• Proficiency in cluster computing science with Python
• Excellent written and spoken French and English
• A proactive, autonomous, and collaborative attitude
